What is findom? A guide to financial domination

Findom is a consensual dynamic between adults: a findomme leads, and a finsub (or paypig) enjoys giving her money and gifts. Here’s how it works, the words people use, and how to start safely.

What findom is

Findom is short for financial domination. It’s a kind of power exchange where one person, usually a woman called a findomme, financial mistress or Domme, takes the lead, and the other, the finsub or paypig, enjoys giving her money and gifts.

The money isn’t really payment for a product. For the person giving, the gift itself is the experience: choosing to send it, having it noticed, and the feeling of handing a small, agreed part of control to someone confident. For the findomme it’s recognition, and a role she chose to play.

Findom happens almost entirely online, in messages, voice notes and small tasks. It doesn’t have to be sexual, and on Findomination it isn’t: everything is non-explicit, private and online only.

Why people enjoy it

For finsubs, the appeal is often the thrill of giving and being seen doing it. Many are used to being in charge all day and enjoy a space where someone else leads, within limits they set. For others it’s plain generosity with some theatre around it: spoiling a woman they admire and knowing she enjoyed it.

For findommes, it’s confidence and control on her own terms. She decides what to offer, what to accept and what to turn down. She can stay anonymous, keep her face out of it, and never meet anyone.

The roles: findomme, finsub and paypig

Findomme (also financial domme, money mistress or findom Domme): the person who leads and receives. On Findomination she’s called a Domme, and a Domme on our home page. More about findommes.

Finsub (financial submissive): the person who enjoys giving. On Findomination he’s called a Sub. More about finsubs.

Paypig: playful slang for a finsub. Some men love the label and choose it for themselves; others prefer finsub. Same role, different flavour. What paypig means.

Tributes, tithes, gifts and wishlists

A tribute is a single gift of money. Some come with nothing attached; others come with a request, like a voice note or a good-morning message.

A tithe is a tribute that repeats on an agreed schedule, weekly or monthly. It’s a ritual both people chose, and either can stop it at any time.

A wishlist is a list of things she’d like. On Findomination a Domme can put her wishlist link, and wherever else she takes tributes, in her bio and chats. Findomination itself is free and never handles the money.

Requests sit in between: he asks for something small and specific, like an outfit pick, a voice note or a daily check-in, and she delivers it. On Findomination requests are free.

How to start safely

If you want to give (finsub or paypig)

  1. Set a budget first

Pick a monthly amount you would never miss. Write it down. That’s your ceiling, whatever happens in a conversation.
  2. Choose a platform with block and report

Somewhere you can block anyone and report problems. Findomination has both and is free.
  3. Start small

Send a modest first tribute and see how the dynamic feels. You can always send more later; you can’t unsend.
  4. Check in with yourself

If it stops feeling like a gift and starts feeling like a bill, lower it, pause or stop. That is always your call.

If you want to receive (findomme)

  1. Build a persona

A name that isn’t yours, face optional, a short list of what you offer and your limits.
  2. Keep your identity separate

Never share your real name or address. Use tribute links and accounts made for your persona, not your personal ones.
  3. Respect budgets

The best findommes never push a sub past his limits. It’s also what keeps regulars coming back.

Red flags

  • Being asked to pay before any conversation, or by gift card or crypto.
  • Urgency or pressure to send more than you planned.
  • Threats of any kind, including “exposure”.
  • Requests for your real name, workplace, address or socials.
  • Profile photos that appear elsewhere under another name.

Any of these on Findomination: block, then report. A person on our team reads every report.
