For Subs

Findom terms: an A–Z glossary

Findom has a vocabulary of its own, and the first few chats can feel like reading a foreign language. This A–Z of findom terms covers the words you’ll actually see in bios, posts and messages, explained in plain English. Where we have a full page on a term, it’s linked so you can go deeper.

How to use this list of findom terms

These findom terms are grouped alphabetically. Some are formal, some are slang, and a few mean slightly different things to different people. When in doubt, ask. A Domme would rather you check what she means than guess wrong, and asking is a sign you take the dynamic seriously.

If you’re completely new, start with what findom means and then come back here.

A to F

  • Acknowledgement: a Domme confirming she received a tribute or a task. Small, but it matters to most Subs.
  • Approach: the first message a Sub sends to a Domme. Short, polite and specific works best. See how to approach a findomme.
  • Boundaries: the limits both people agree on: budget, topics, how often to talk, what’s off the table. They come before anything else.
  • [Cashmeet](/findom/cashmeet): a term for meeting in person to hand over a tribute. Findomination is online only, so cashmeets are not part of anything on the site.
  • [Cashpig](/findom/cashpig): a playful nickname for a Sub who enjoys giving, close in meaning to paypig.
  • Bio: a profile’s description. In findom, it usually covers her style, her rules and where she takes tributes. Read it before you message.
  • Check-in: a short message a Sub sends at an agreed time, like a good-morning note. Many Dommes like them as a ritual.
  • Domme: short for dominant woman. In findom, the woman who leads.
  • [Findom](/what-is-findom): short for financial domination.
  • [Findom chat](/findom/findom-chat): the private conversation where the dynamic actually happens: messages, voice notes, tasks and check-ins.
  • [Findom goddess](/findom/findom-goddess): an honorific some Dommes use. It’s a title, not a different role.
  • [Findom tasks](/findom/findom-tasks): small, non-explicit things a Domme asks a Sub to do, like writing a short note or picking a song.
  • [Findomme](/findom/findomme): a woman who practises financial domination.
  • [Finsub](/findom/finsub): a man who enjoys giving to a findomme.

G to M

  • Generous: a common, friendly way to describe a Sub who gives thoughtfully. Not the same as giving a lot.
  • Gift card: one of the ways some Dommes take tributes. Each Domme lists her own preferred methods.
  • Good boy / good pig: praise a Domme might give after a tribute or task. Tone varies a lot from Domme to Domme.
  • [Human ATM](/findom/human-atm): a role-play label some Subs enjoy, describing the feeling of giving on request. It’s a fantasy frame, always inside an agreed budget.
  • Kink: a sexual or non-sexual interest outside the mainstream. Findom is a kink, even when nothing explicit is involved.
  • Limits: the hard lines someone won’t cross. Both sides have them, and both sides respect them.
  • [Money mistress](/findom/money-mistress): another name for a findomme.
  • Mindset: some Dommes talk about a Sub’s mindset, meaning how seriously and respectfully he approaches the dynamic.

N to S

  • Online only: a dynamic that never involves meeting. On Findomination, everything is online only.
  • Persona: the name and character a Domme (or Sub) uses instead of a real identity. Personas protect privacy on both sides.
  • [Paypig](/findom/paypig): the most common slang for a finsub. Some men love the word, some prefer Sub. Use whichever the person you’re talking to likes.
  • Request: something a Sub asks a Domme for, like a voice note, a photo, a text or an outfit pick. On Findomination, requests are free and non-explicit.
  • Ritual: a repeated habit inside the dynamic, like a Friday tribute or a morning check-in.
  • Safe word: a word that stops things immediately, no questions asked. In findom, simply saying “I want to stop” works too.
  • [Sends](/findom/sends): casual slang for tributes, as in “sends are open”.
  • Sub: short for submissive. In findom, the man who gives.
  • Spoil: a gift, often something chosen from her wishlist rather than cash.

T to Z

  • [Tithe](/findom/tithe): a regular, agreed amount, often weekly or monthly. It works best when it’s set in advance and comfortably within the Sub’s means.
  • [Tribute](/findom/tribute): a gift a Sub gives a Domme. The core act in findom.
  • Tribute methods: where a Domme takes tributes, for example Throne, CashApp, PayPal, a wishlist or gift cards. She lists them in her bio or chat; it’s up to her and the Sub how tributes are sent.
  • Unblocked / blocked: whether you can still message someone. Blocking is a normal way to end a chat; nobody is owed an explanation.
  • Wallet check: a term some people use for checking a Sub’s spending. It shouldn’t mean sharing bank details or logins; never share either.
  • [Wishlist](/findom/wishlist): a list of items a Domme would like, which Subs can buy as gifts.
  • Within means: the golden rule. Every tribute fits a budget the Sub would never miss.

Glossary terms that are really guides

A few phrases people search for are less a definition and more a question. We’ve written full pages on them:

Using findom terms well

Knowing the words is half of it. Using them well is the other half, and Dommes notice the difference quickly.

  • Mirror her language. If her bio says Goddess, use Goddess. If she says Miss, use Miss. Titles are personal, and getting them right on the first message shows you read her profile.
  • Don’t assume a label. Some Subs love being called a paypig; others don’t. If you’re a Sub, say which you prefer. If you’re unsure what a Domme means by a word, ask.
  • Keep slang out of serious moments. When you’re discussing budget, limits or stopping, plain words are best. “I’d like to keep it to this amount each month” beats any clever phrasing.
  • Words don’t override limits. A playful label like human ATM is a fantasy frame. It never changes the budget you agreed or your freedom to stop.

Words to be careful with

You’ll occasionally see language online that sounds extreme: talk of pressure, owing money, exposure or giving until there’s nothing left. That isn’t findom as we understand it, and it isn’t allowed on Findomination. A real dynamic is between consenting adults, inside a budget, and either side can stop at any time.

If someone uses words like that to push you, treat it as a red flag and read findom scams and red flags.

Now that the vocabulary makes sense, you’re ready to look around. Findomination is free for everyone: join free, browse Dommes and message anyone you like.
